Season two of The Mandalorian will soon be upon us! Of course, by soon we mean October 30th, but given the fact that most productions were delayed by COVID-19, soon is a fair statement.

The Disney Plus Star Wars series had fortunately wrapped shooting for season two just when the pandemic hit and managed to get all of its post-production work done remotely and still make its deadline. Given how damn good the first season was, fans were understandably excited when the first (and possibly only) trailer dropped yesterday.

We get to see Mando or Din Djarin, the titular Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) along with The Child, aka (unofficially) Baby Yoda. We also got to see Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), two popular recurring characters from season one.

There are also some great shots, action scenes and what look like new Star Wars worlds, plus at least one familiar one. Plus there’s that hilariously cute scene of The Child checking out before a fight.

What we don’t get is absolute confirmation that any of the characters from other Star Wars series and films who were rumored to appear actually will. Of course this is the show that kept Baby Yoda under wraps throughout multiple trailers and convention panels, so not surprising.

There is that mysterious woman in a cloak. The one spying on Mando and The Child on a dock before disappearing as the voiceover talks about the Jedi.

Is that Ashoka Tano, rumored to be played for the first time in live action by Rosario Dawson? Probably not as there are no face markings and every time we have seen her wearing a cloak her horns protrude.

Could it be Bo-Katan Kryze, rumored to be played by original Clone Wars and Rebels voice actor Katee Sackhoff (also Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica)? Maybe. Definitely Bo’s surveillance style, but no Mandalorian armor.

Could it be Sabine Wren from Rebels, last seen with Ashoka? Most likely of the three mentioned here, but still no way to tell.

It’s definitely not Boba Fett, rumored to be returning and played by Jango Fett and clone troopers actor Temuera Morrison. It could, of course, be someone new.

We’ll just have to find out. Enjoy the trailer!
