With all the hype surrounding tonight’s release of Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi, it might be easy to forget that Star Wars Celebration, currently taking place in Anaheim, means trailers. And we’ve got one for Star Wars: Andor, along with a release date, August 31st.
The Disney Plus streaming series follows Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (obviously), so that means we’ll be seeing the galaxy at the height of the Empire’s power, just as the Rebel Alliance is forming. Pretty much a similar timeline to Star Wars Rebels, but in live action.
Does this mean we’ll get to see Coruscant during the Empire? Did we already catch glimpses of it in the trailer? Well, we do see future Rebel Alliance Leader Mon Mothma (Genevieve O’Reilly) and that’s where she works at the time, so yeah, pretty sure (we do see the Senate chamber).
What about other known characters that were around in this era? Given the new MCU-like approach Star Wars streaming has taken lately, it’s also quite possible. Many reactors have also remarked that the trailer has a very Jedi: Fallen Order vibe, so does that mean we’ll see Cal Kestis? Do we see him in the trailer?
Only time (three months of time) will tell.
